Spider Rock Inspired
Watercolor
22 x 15 inches
unframed and unmatted, $95
My husband and I lived for four years in Chinle, AZ. Canyon De Chelly National monument was 5 miles from our home. We would often go there in all seasons and times of day. Spider Rock sits deep in the canyon and is known for the ancient weaver called Spider Woman. She is the spiritual origin of the world known Navajo weavers. The rock formation is two spires standing straight up rising hundreds of feet from the canyon floor. The reflections of color on the rocks are my spirit imagination at work as I found quiet wonder from each visit.
